I often get many people asking me how I manage to stay motivated all year round and keep myself in good shape....well.... I have a confession to make!!

I find it just as hard to stay motivated as everyone else out there, however after a comp I allow myself to "relax, repair and rejoice" so that my brain does not end fried! The mental side of competing is far more difficult than any weight session you'll ever do or any cardio training you think is hell!

Nothing....and I MEAN NOTHING.... compares to the whole after comp phase and if you're not careful you can really set yourself up for some nasty side effects!  If you're finding that you are struggling with your thoughts, emotions and feelings on a regular basis, you're not alone!

Many competitors simply don't realise how normal they are feeling so low after a competition and think that there is something wrong with them simply because they are feeling so bad!  Everyone else around them seems to be doing it all so EASILY, but you know what, deep down, those same people are going through exactly the same hardships and struggles that you are, and if they tell you they aren't then, they're either lying (mostly) or are one of the very FEW (and I mean FEW!!) people who don't eat any fat or sugar EVER!  This is extremely rare and i've only seen it once....and NO IT'S NOT ME!

So I just wanted to share a little bit of what it feels like to be a figure competitor with you all, so that you can feel a litttle normal rather than feeling like a failure!  Just know that we're all here to support each other, so if you want to share anything at all, or have any questions, check out the forum for our members by clicking here

Until next time,
Train Hard, Keep Fit and LOVE life!
