I know that I am not perfect and sometimes still succumb to the lure of emotional overeating, that awful feeling where you are just out of control. But I feel like I am making a lot of progress in reducing non-hungry eating and eating with awareness by really making sure I enjoy the meals on my plan and never feel deprived. By doing this, I am not viewing overeating generally as a source of pleasure anymore, rather associating it with a discomfort of being overfull.

I've mentioned that a great way to lose excess fat is to concentrate on improving your health as for most people, simply increasing water and vegetable intake is enough to indirectly reduce 'sometimes food' and non hungry eating (like my lingo?) and getting in better shape becomes inevitable! I have a ground breaking, medical breakthrough type, fantastic, worth all the hype new diet for you- Its called.... the Lifestyle! ..oh.. is that it? Yep, no pill popping, no cayenne pepper, no fasting, no meal replacement shakes and I'll even go one better- NO deprivation, NO guilt, NO hunger!!!!!! I can't promise no hardwork though.. sorry!

Not much in the way of weight loss to report the last couple of weeks unfortunately but progress in the realms of headspace in leaps and bounds which is far more valuable!!!

It is absolutely perfect timing for me to have started reading, "If not dieting, then what?" by Rick Kausman as a lot of the ideas he is conveying would not have hit home with me only months ago, but I am finally starting to see the light :)

Thought I'd muse on some of the strange comments people give you when (after working your butt off) people start to notice you're getting results. (I have to admit, I've been guilty of asking a co-worker vaguely if they'd lost some weight to have them say they'd lost 30kg).

Hello hello,

Had my third appt with JD on Friday 1 Aug and am pleased to report back with 1.4kg loss (59.8kg) and 7mm loss on skins (81.5mm) over the last 4 weeks.

JD was happy with the rate of loss so far, and so am I,  which is interesting because in the past I would have wanted it FASTER (which i know is counterproductive). Also, it is great to document my thoughts and emotions about the process along the way, I am making great progres ... Read More »

This morning my alarm went off at 5:30am which is a sleep in for me, as I have been getting up as early as 4:30am to get out for my pre-breakfast cardio. I never thought I'd see the day but I am really enjoying these walks, we live in a beautiful suburb with many fantastic treks through parks and around lakes- so much so that I often find myself out for an hour rather than just the half hour required of me at the moment.
